Our History
My name is Ms. Bethany Lukehart and I was born in Pennsylvania. I began my music career at the age of 8 playing flute and have never wavered. I moved to Peachtree City, Georgia in 1986 and have been there ever since!
I graduated from Columbus State University with a degree in Music Education, and began working at MARS Music as the Regional Learning Center Manager, helping bring music students together with music teachers. After a year on “Mars” I realized my real love was teaching, and entered the world of Middle School Music.
Although I enjoyed teaching older students, when I came to Newnan Crossing Elementary School I really found my niche. This is a great school, and I love helping all my students find their musical footing. It’s tremendously rewarding when I hear of students who have gone on to sing, play instruments, or even just continue listening and expanding their musical tastes. When I am not teaching either at school or at my private flute and piccolo studio, I love to play in combos for community musicals. New things are always happening and the latest interest of mine is flute and piccolo repair.
